Women Empowering Women

The “Women Empowering Women” project is an initiative developed by ACERTAR, directed at women in vulnerable situations affected by the scarcity of employment and lack of training opportunities.

The proposal sought to transform a welfare-oriented vision into an entrepreneurial vision, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among participants.
During the pilot phase, 15 women participated, though the initial target had been 30.

This process was an opportunity for participants to discover their capabilities, strengthen their autonomy, and build sustainable life projects.

Objectives

General Objective

Provide business training to the women in the “Women Empowering Women - 2022” project, promoting their holistic development.

Main Objective

Foster group and individual strategies for the personal, technical, and business training of participants.

Specific Objectives

  1. Provide psychological support and emotional accompaniment.
  2. Train in business skills and use of digital tools (ICT).
  3. Teach manual techniques that enable sustainable income generation.

Results

  • Social activities were carried out focused on personal development, though the psychological support objective was not fully achieved.
  • The “Women Entrepreneurs” program was executed, with workshops on business management and leadership, with variable participation.
  • The “Art by Hand” program was implemented, in which women learned various manual techniques such as:
    • Dressmaking and tailoring
    • Knitting
    • Jewelry making
    • Wool embroidery
    • Amigurumis

Two outstanding entrepreneurships emerged from this experience:

  1. ZUZÚ ANGEL: Textile brand focused on women’s lingerie.
  2. LAS PERLAS DE ELIANA: Handcrafted knitting entrepreneurship.

Participants showed great interest in practical activities, developed new creative skills, and strengthened personal bonds, demonstrating the importance of collaborative work and continuous training.
